A class can be good without a great teacher – the subject could be inherently fun and the classmates can be good company. However, what turns a good class into a great class is the teacher.

You know those teachers that enjoy making fun of students to be cool? Those teachers are selfish, in a way, because they’ll be too busy being cool to show students how much they love to teach.

Great teachers can admit that they are wrong. Great teachers can talk to their students as equals, and do so when appropriate. Great teachers can see the greatness in their students. Great teachers aren’t just passionate about what they teach, but must also be constantly showing that passion to their students. Great teachers can literally change the world.
